So far this week

We've had a busy week so far. Lunch with Anne from Rosie Animal Adoptions on Monday, good to see her again. Monique was also with us and updated us on the puppy mill situation in Quebec and her efforts to try get the legislation passed to put an end to them.

Yesterday, Jeniese got to practice her grooming on Charlie, my American Cocker Spaniel. She did a great job, considering he decided he doesn't like her. Not sure why, but everytime she comes by he does his best to get her to leave. Yet, he was her best friend when he was on the grooming table. She said she didn't rub liver treats all over her face, but I'm not quite sure I believe her. Anyway, she did a fabulous job and did it all by herself, with supervision from Nancy. He looks lovely. On Friday, she will be doing Maxwell so he is all fresh and sparkling for his appearance at the adoption day on Saturday.

While she was grooming, I zipped over to our vets in LaSalle to pick up Winston, the new addition to our adoption list. He is just fabulous. He will be joining Victor and Helene along with new foster brother Pedro until he finds his forever home. That's his picture you see in the blog. He is a King Shepherd mix, 2 years old. Just lovely. He is having a vacation at Country Meadows until his foster mom and dad are back from their mini-vacation. Thanks to Kim and Rachel at Country Meadows for their help with him. After I dropped him off at Country Meadows, I zipped by to the groomers, picking up a pizza along the way. Once we had done we all headed home. Jeniese was going back to help groom two more dogs, a lovely BMD and a husky mix. But then found out she had lost her keys to the house and the car. Bit of a panicky moment.

Today, has been a day of paperwork and webpage updating. How come the day's go 5 times as fast when you are not working for someone else. I think I need to have 30 hours a day now, when I was working full time I could have done with having only 10 hours in a day. Have a supper meeting this evening to determine long range plans for Foxy's so hopefully in the next few weeks we will have some exciting news to pass along.

Off now to walk the dogs and take in a bit of fresh air on an unusually mild winter day for Montreal. Its very pretty outside due to a snowfall last night. As I live backing on woods and a golf course all the tree are coated with a soft white powder, it looks like a picture card.

Enjoy the rest of the day and evening.
