Two weeks in review
We've been quite busy over the last two weeks. Fred has been adopted, Winston has been adopted. Both are in great homes with other furry friends to play with. We added four more to our Foxy gang. Jasper and Daisy came from a pound where they were to be euthanized. Thanks to Rosie Animal Adoptions for helping us get them out. Unfortunately, Jasper passed away due to complications from an illness he contracted. He died at our vet's office on Wednesday, February 15th. We are all just devastated by this news as he was one of our favorites. He did have a very good last week with lots of hugs and kisses and playtime. He really enjoyed the company of Daisy, who is one fantastic dog. I am currently fostering her. Hmmmm, lose a little shih-tzu and take in a 60lb dog, something wrong with that scenario. But we wanted to see how she did in a home, and whoever adopts this lovely girl is getting one super dog. She is very calm in the house, doesn't need crating when left alone. Is very gentle even though she is quite tall. She is great with cats and other dogs. She loves to have lots of attention and comes to check that you are still there, but then goes off onto her blanket. She has had basic obedience as she has her commands and she does not get on the bed or furniture. She is great when one of the other dogs wants to eat her food, no food aggression at all.
We need a very special home for this young lady. So she can live her days in the manner that befits such a gentle dog.
Maxwell is improving with his commands and toilet training. Codey has found his new family and will be joining them next weekend hopefully, after his neutering and vaccinations are complete.
Miss Vanilla will be listed very soon, she is a lovely little Bichon Frise from our vets office. She belonged to the brother of our vet, who is quite ill and could not take care of her as much as he would have liked so Emilie has a new foster to cuddle up with.
Last Sunday, Jeniese and I did a run to Ottawa with a great dane, Mia, for Danes in Distress. Thanks to Angela for driving her up from Sherbrooke, it was great to see you again. Mia is now in Fergus with her new family.
Ziggy is meeting a prospective new family tomorrow morning. Maxwell is also being met tomorrow, so hopefully each will find their new homes.
Jeniese at play with the gang, Benny, her dog, Codey, Jasper and Daisy.
